Katie Carpenter King is the proud Owner and Artistic Director of Studio 180 Dance. A graduate of The University of Maryland, with a degree in French, she also holds a Master's Degree in European Policy and Politics from NYU and a yoga certification through the Yoga Alliance with advanced training in sequencing and Anatomy & Physiology . Ms. Katie is classically trained in ballet, modern, lyrical, contemporary, jazz, and tap, and has taught dance to and choreographed for students of all ages in studios and schools in the US and in France. She has performed professionally with The Collective Dance Company in Baltimore, MD and is the founder and creator of the "Dance Hard, Dance Strong" educational program that she brought to schools throughout the region to help children realize the importance of the healthy, strong lifestyle that can be achieved through dance. In addition to her yoga training, Ms. Katie has successfully completed teacher training courses in aerial dance at the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA) in Battleboro, VT and is a certified Zumba®, Zumbatomic®, and Piloxing Instructor. Ms. Katie's experience and passion for dance and yoga and all the benefits they provide is shared with her students of all ages, levels and disciplines. Her commitment to the importance of dance and yoga in all aspects of our human experience allows Ms. Katie the opportunity to dedicate her time to ensuring that each and every Studio 180 Dance dancer, athlete, yogi, and family receives the education that they uniquely deserve. She continues to work hard to grow and improve the studio in a way that will allow all members of the Studio 180 Family to receive a current, knowledgeable, safe and exciting experience. Ms. Katie could not be more proud to serve as Owner and Artistic Director of Studio 180 and is so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of each of her students' journeys!
